Conference structure
After receiving an array of excellent proposals, we have added two more panels to the schedule.
Objects of Knowledge, Objects of Exchange will take place over two days, April 3rd and 4th, 2009.
Friday morning will include opening remarks and two panels of three papers. Each panel will include three 20-minute presentations, followed by a 30-minute period for discussion. After lunch, we will continue with another three-paper panel and the keynote address by John L. Jackson.
Saturday will consist of two panels in the morning, with one panel of three papers and the experimental panel of four following in the afternoon.
In the experimental panel, four participants will respond to a common question from the point of view of their discipline or methodology. Each of the four participants will give a 15-minute presentation of their response to the question, followed by 15 minutes of roundtable discussion. By alternating short presentations and discussion periods focusing on a particular question from four viewpoints, we hope to stimulate a lively exchange of perspectives and to explore the interdisciplinary endeavor.
